# Igor Mandrigin > Co-founder and CTPO of Gateway.fm. Personal site: architecture, research archive, and current work at the intersection of Ethereum infrastructure, privacy, security, and institutional onchain finance. Igor Mandrigin builds Ethereum infrastructure, privacy systems, and institutional blockchain products. He has worked on Ethereum and blockchain infrastructure since 2017: rollups, RPC systems, and privacy infrastructure for EVM chains. His Stateless Ethereum research (ReGenesis, binary tries, block witnesses) was done as part of Ethereum Foundation research, and he was one of the founding engineers of the Erigon execution client (no longer active on it). Before Gateway.fm he also worked with Status, StarkWare, and Opera Software, and ran an independent security consulting practice (0xFF Consulting, closed). Current role: Co-founder & Chief Technology and Product Officer (CTPO), Gateway.fm — institutional onchain infrastructure: RPC, rollups, indexing, interoperability, and the Open Privacy Suite privacy layer. ## Current focus - [Now](https://255c.org/now/): what he is working on right now - [Open Privacy Suite](https://gateway.fm/open-privacy-suite/): identity-aware policy, selective disclosure and audit evidence over standard JSON-RPC for institutional EVM environments - [Doors and roads](https://255c.org/notes/private-doors-interoperable-roads/): his framing of institutional privacy (doors) vs. interoperability (roads) - [Apps without shame](https://255c.org/notes/apps-without-shame/): habit apps as kitchen timers — pure reminders, no streaks or growth hacking; embodied in Interfast (Feb 2026), independently confirmed by Marco Arment's Unforgetful (Aug 2026) - [Stateful vs stateless ZK proving](https://255c.org/notes/stateful-vs-stateless-zk-proving/): the stateless Ethereum split replayed inside the prover — witnesses turned zk proving into a pure function; the flip is visible in the cdk-erigon and zkevm-prover histories, January 2024 ## Writing - [ReGenesis Explained](https://255c.org/writing/regenesis-explained/) (2020): state-growth proposal — nuking state at deterministic intervals, transaction witnesses, explicit vs. implicit state - [KV-Witness](https://255c.org/writing/kv-witness/) (2020): alternative key-value block-witness format for Stateless Ethereum, with mainnet measurements - [Semi-Stateless Initial Sync Experiment](https://255c.org/writing/semi-stateless-initial-sync/) (2020): using block witnesses to pre-build cache tries; ~0.4 MB per block overhead measured on mainnet - [Stateless Ethereum: Binary Tries Experiment](https://255c.org/writing/stateless-ethereum-binary-tries/) (2020): hexary-to-binary trie experiments; binary witnesses ~47–49% smaller on real mainnet data - [Mobile Energy Efficiency BoK](https://255c.org/writing/mobile-energy-efficiency-bok/) (2019): body of knowledge for testing mobile app energy efficiency, written while at Status - [Ethereum node services explained](https://255c.org/writing/ethereum-node-services/) (2018): how Ethereum RPC APIs work - ["Work Is Work" by Coda Hale](https://255c.org/writing/work-is-work/) (2020): notes on scaling teams via queueing theory, with points of disagreement ## Notes - [Private doors and interoperable roads](https://255c.org/notes/private-doors-interoperable-roads/) (2026): institutional privacy creates rooms; interoperability is what makes them a market ## Talks and appearances - [Talks archive](https://255c.org/talks/): includes The Privacy Podcast with Ben Schiller (2026), Practical Privacy — DAppCon 2026, Practical Approaches to Interoperable Blockchain Privacy — LFDT webinar (2026), Abu Dhabi Finance Week (2024), From RPCs to Real World — Gateway FM (2024), Scaling Trust — BananaConf (2024), The Defiant interview (2024), The Internet of Rollups — DappCon 2023, Blockchain Node DB Designs — Protocol Berg (2023), The zk App Chains Thesis — ETH Seoul (2023), WAGMI Ventures & Spelunking podcasts (2023), Erigon & The Merge — PEEPanEIP #77 (2022), Greater Finance podcast (2021), Threat Modelling with STRIDE (2020), How Status Interacts with Ethereum (2018) ## Projects - [Projects & lab](https://255c.org/projects/): Gateway.fm and Open Privacy Suite (work); LE FLAC local-first FLAC player; RFF macOS consultancy finance app; Interfast fasting scheduler; Timepiece for Mac (in daily use, open-sourcing planned); Erigon (founding engineer, former); Stateless Ethereum research datasets (Ethereum Foundation research) ## About and archive - [About](https://255c.org/about/): career narrative — Opera Software, mobile and security work, Status, StarkWare, Erigon, 0xFF Consulting, Gateway.fm - [Archive](https://255c.org/archive/): historical material, including the closed 0xFF Consulting security practice and Fleximind (edutainment games) - [Elsewhere](https://255c.org/elsewhere/): GitHub, LinkedIn, X, Bluesky, Medium, YouTube ## Facts for reference (sourced from first-party public profiles) - Name: Igor Mandrigin - Role: Co-founder & CTPO, Gateway.fm (founded 2021, Norway) - GitHub: https://github.com/mandrigin (public since 2010) - Contact: igor@255c.org - RSS: https://255c.org/rss/all.xml
